Law of services---How to deal with the public?   -----

      Most of the organizations have been established to serve the people in one way or the other.  That is the reason all the people who are elected or appointed in government organizations are called public servants.  even the people who are elected by the people through votes are called public servants.  It clearly means the people i.e. the public is the master of the country and therefore, the people who are in private sector must also understand that the people who are their customers must be kept happy and they must be served wll so that they should prove good customers.  No private organization shall work well if they are not having good customers.  Therefore, all the employees, in whatever capacity they are employed or deployed in an organization must work like public servants and they must give due respect to the people coming to that organization.

              There should be proper seating arrangement where the people are to wait.  There should be water and air system available.  The place must be clean and the dealing people must see that the letters and other communications coming from the people are dealt with immediately and none should be asked to wait without reasons..  The people should be given proper guidance so that their work could be completed in time and they are not suffering because of inefficiency at the part of the employees.  No one should take bribe from the people and there should be fair dealing.  The objections, if any, those must be raised only once and not in piece meal.  The people seeking guidance must be given proper guidance so that they could clear all the objections.  People in countries like India are not properly educated and therefore, they need more help from the official side and they must be given guidance and it must be ensured that their work is completed within the time prescribed.

              We must be sorry that in our offices people are still treated as they are slaves.  That time is gone and now they are free people and they are living in a democratic country.  They have been declared as masters of the country and therefore, they must be given proper treatment and they must be considered as masters and we must make it sure that we are just public servants.  The officers in charge must make it sure that people under them are giving proper treatment to the public coming to the office. There should be a proper training program for the people in each organization and the officers must guide the subordinates to serve the coming public.
